The Thoroughbred

Well renowned as the world’s supreme racehorse, the thoroughbred has played a significant role in the refinement of many older horse and pony breeds and also in establishing new ones.

The exact breeding of the thoroughbred’s forebears in unknown but it is hypothesized Englishmen brought a number of stallions in the 7th century and crossed them with English mares of various pedigree, and thus started the legacy of the great racehorse.

The thoroughbred is handsome, alert, and oozes presence. When galloping, it has a ground-covering stride and boasts endless courage and stamina which make it ideal on the racecourse, hunting or for eventing.
